Beth and I attended a panel discussion on Heritage and Disasters at the IRDR. The panelists discussed the importance of involving communities in the protection of their heritage. This led to exploring ways of building up local capacity, through public institutions and private businesses, in order to increase communities’ control over their heritage and their preparedness towards disaster risk.
